Founded in New York City in 2010 for the purpose of publishing literature in English about the Middle East.

This mandate includes both fiction and non-fiction. In the future, the Press hopes to offer a translation service for writers whose works—in Arabic, Persian or Turkish—have been neglected here. The first book published by the Press—Digging In: An American archaeologist uncovers the real Iran—came out in 2011. The second book—Strangers in the West: The Syrian Colony of New York City, 1880-1900—will appear in the Fall of 2015.
